Engagement sessions. Swoon. Seriously sweet.
Engagement sessions are a time I spend with my clients to start forming a bond. During the session, I watch the couple and they interact with each other. Every couple will hug differently, and fits together in a unique way. This time makes the wedding day run smoothly because I’m already familiar with them and how they move together. It never fails that working with a couple before the big day means that we hug a little tighter.
Kristen came to me from a former spring bride. It’s always a double honor to get a referral from a former bride. To me it means that she trusts me so much that she’d send her dearest friends my way. Kristen is SPUNKY!! She’s totally my kinda girl. It truly was a great afternoon spent with these two. Without further ado….
Henry and Katherine are the sweetest. Oh how I love a woman that knows what she wants, and diplomatically goes after it. Katherine is that woman. She’s marvelous.
The story of how Katherine found me is just too good..and I have to share. I’m a member of several photographer’s associations. Some of my favorite people are photographers. Several years ago I found myself in a group of such photographers, The Association of Media Photographers. Now, I realize that I am NOT a media photographer, but I am a believer in learning all I can about what I do. I have learned a lot from working with a fantastic editorial photographer, a commercial photographer, even a food photographer. There is always something I can learn and apply to my own genre. Plus…those folks wouldn’t touch a wedding with a ten foot pole.
Katherine works with one of my photographer friends in the group. When she approached him for a wedding photographer referral, I was one of the names he passed along. Katherine contacted me, we met, hit it off immediately, and were off to the races. Several months later, after Facebook friending Katherine, one of her friends, Whitney, was tagged in a post. I sat back in my chair, scratched my head, and had to call her. “How in the world do you know Whitney? She lives in Colorado.” Katherine replied, “She’s one of my best friends. She’s in the wedding.” I was floored. I was Whitney’s wedding photographer 3 years ago. Katherine told me she was one of her bridesmaids. I pulled out Whitney’s sample album that I’ve used for years, and there was Katherine. 🙂 It was meant to be. I was ecstatic to see Whitney at Katherine’s wedding. She’s as lovely as ever. I love full circle stories.
Aren’t they both beautiful? I’m the luckiest wedding photographer ever!
Without further ado…Henry and Katherine and their beautiful, all that’s glamorous and shimmers, unforgettable wedding.
Henry and Katherine, thank you for sharing your most special day with Blackbird Photography. We were honored to be there to help you remember every detail. <3, -K
